How does your media product represent particular social groups?

On the left is Matt Cardle, i have chosen him as he is similar to my model on my front cover, and i think that they would both attract the same audiences and attention. Matt Cardle was the last winner of the x-factor. The model for my magazine is also 'the winner' of the x-factor so they both are having the photo for the same reason. Each of the photo's have a subjective gaze, which automatically gives connection with the magazine cover and the reader, this helps a lot as when someone is looking to buy a magazine then their attention automatically gets drawn to the magazine which is giving eye contact. Both models have a similar posture which is in an upright position this gives the reader a good idea that the model has great confidence and that its not a sloppy, carefree magazine but however not too serious just not all a joke with a 'carefree' attitude. As, if they both were standing slouched then this would represent a less professional attitude and tell the reader automatically that the magazine is not worth reading as the attitude will run through. Both shot types are similar but however originally the photo of my model was a long shot and included all of his body, but for my magazine cover it had to be cropped to make it more to the point and to make the picture look more professional and more to the point. Also another similarity is that both backgrounds are plain with no patterns on them, however the colour of it is different. The clothing both models are wearing are different Matt Cardle is wearing a more smarter structured blazer which gives him a more sharper look, for my magazine i wanted a softer looking look so i dressed my model in a smart jumper which shows off the figure more, this gives it a more casual look which becomes quite attractive. Each expression is similar but different their eyes are giving the same look but their mouths are different. Matt's mouth looks more stern and unhappy but however my models mouth is smiling slightly which gives it a more happier, softer look which draws a friendly attention.
